The approach
One of our customers in construction offers a project management platform for building companies and architects. Their workload increased throughout the years. Our member Bulls-i was tasked with simplifying application infrastructure and optimising cost saving for the platform.
Previous situation
Previously, our customer was working with another partner that didn’t follow the Well Architected Framework and was implementing everything manually on the platform.
New setup
We proposed to use a completely automated setup, following the Well Architected Framework, with readily available templates.
The services used are as follows:
- ECS Fargate
- RDS
- Code Pipeline
- ECR
- Route 53
- VPC
- S3

Results
We lowered the amount of operational issues on the application by using Fargate instead of Kubernetes. We also lowered the total cost of the project to about 1/3 of the original. Stepping away from manual implementation was the right choice.
